On the first day of 2023, our brothers and sisters in Graz International Baptist Church celebrated a service of baptism. 8 beloved children of God from Iran and Afghanistan were baptized and officially welcomed as members of the church. This is a major step in their faith journey – one that for most of them would have been impossible or extremely difficult and dangerous in their home countries.<\/p>\n\n

\n

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come!<\/p>\n2 Corinthians 5:17<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n

The New Year’s Day service was a beautiful picture of the new life to be found in Christ. The joy and freedom experienced by our brothers and sisters as they took this step of baptism was contagious. They shared a little of their faith stories with those present and reaffirmed their decision and deep desire to follow Christ, in the support and fellowship of their church family. <\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

We celebrate with our brothers and sisters in Graz and pray for them on their ongoing journey with God.<\/p>\n\n
